LIFE

This is the major pro-life charity in the UK that gives the positive alternatives to abortion and IVF and provides valuable-sex education.  It was founded in 1970.

LIFE’s Care Service has saved the lives of thousands of unborn babies and helped their mothers during pregnancy and after birth for as long as needed, sometimes in houses that the charity runs specifically for this purpose. The Basingstoke & N.E. Hants LIFE group has two houses, one in Farnborough and the other in Fleet, where mothers are supported until they have found employment and more permanent accommodation. This gives them an excellent start and to help them on their way they are given a leaving pack containing a number of household essentials.

LIFE’s Education Service provides trained staff who are able to visit schools with presentations carefully devised to suit all year groups.  In Basingstoke visits have already been made to Bishop Challoner, St. Anne’s and St Bede’s and we hope to extend our programme to other schools in and around the town. LIFE’s Fertility Care Programme uses NaProTechnology, an alternative to IVF for married couples who are finding it difficult to start or continue a family..  There have been 113 babies born this way.  If you would like further details please contact Ira Winter on 01926 834654.
